"Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is a song by Iron Maiden written by bassist Steve Harris. It was released as the eighth and final track on the band's fifth studio album Powerslave (1984). It was inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's 1798 poem, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It was the band's longest song until the release of "Empire of the Clouds" in 2015.
